Isuzu 4x4 Challenge in Kirkwood - 2012

General Motors South Africa (GMSA) and its Isuzu brand is proud to bring you the Isuzu 4x4 Challenge that will be held at the Lookout in Kirkwood on Saturday, the 30th of June 2012.
This year marks the 11th anniversary of the Isuzu 4x4 Challenge which is organised by the Eastern Cape 4x4 Club in partnership with Isuzu.

Proceeds raised at the event will be donated to the Kirkwood High School and St Reginald’s Primary School. These schools will be present at the event selling eats in an effort to raise further funds.
The Challenge starts at 09h00 and the cut-off time of the competition is at approximately 15h00 followed by the prize giving.
A total of 50 vehicles will be participating and will consist of the following classes:

Class A modified with diff lock; Class B with no diff lock (open diff modified); Class C1; Class C2 Production vehicles and Class D with two wheel drive buggies.

The Production Class has become one of the most popular classes with 10 vehicles confirmed to participate in this year’s challenge and entrants are coming from as far as Cape Town and Johannesburg.
The event is held in a contained area and there are 10 obstacles courses to complete. Driver skills and vehicle capabilities are put through the test when each driver navigates his vehicle through ten tough obstacle courses without touching the stakes.

Grant McCleery and Ryan Visagie, representing the Isuzu Off-Road Academy and Overall Winners in 2011, will be defending their title against fierce competition in their Isuzu 3,0l Double Cab.

The Isuzu Off-Road Academy is currently on their Road show and one of their stops will be at the Lookout. Visitors will be able to obtain more information about this great initiative as it is open to customers throughout the country who are interested in enhancing their off-road driving capabilities as well as making the most of their 4x4 vehicles in a controlled and safe environment. In addition to this there will be a transparent Isuzu as well as a fully accessorised Isuzu on display.
Entrance fee to the event is R20 per adult, R10 per scholar and children under 6 free. A complimentary shuttle service will run every hour on the hour from 09h00 to 15h00 from a designated area near the Main Entrance to and from the Lookout.
